Well it looks like its halloween today, but the holiday seems to have caught me at a chapter that isn't particularly scary. Well next halloween will either be taking place at the end of the Tempura panda arc or the beginning of the Kigurumi arc, both of which have some pretty creepy stuff happening so I'm sure we'll get it right next time.

Speaking of which I recently rewatched the early 80's horror film "the pit", I couldn't help but draw alot of parralells between this movie and the Tempura panda arc, it was almost like an increbly badly written version of what I was doing. This is a film I saw as a kid and lately I have been refinding all of these childhood favorites such as terrorvision and monster in the closet. The pit though has in no way inspired the tempura panda arc, at least not conciously so it was interesting to draw the parralells.

The Pit is about a weird kid named Jaimie who is kind of out of touch with reality. He has a teddy bear that he seems to have imprinted some weird split personality on, but then stuff that is seemingly in his imagination begins to show up in the real world such as some weird cave cannibals he calls Tralalogs. This movie was good in a bad sort of way up until the third act where it just gets painfully stupid because of the nonsensical actions of the Tralalogs.

That aside it reminded me alot of the coming Tempura panda arc, partially because of the talking bear. Teddy, Jaimies bear was assumed to be an imaginary freind of his, but there is one scene where the bear moves on its own without Jaimie being around. What does this mean? One has to ask if the Tralalogs already existed or did Jaimie dream them into reality much like the monster in the movie "forbiddon planet"? Is Jaimie shaping his own reality unconciously? And if so, this ultimately turns to be his downfall as he is devoured by his own inner demons. Yes, as you can guess I have tendency even to overthink half baked B-movies, anyway here is "the pit", one of my old childhood classics in all its badly written glory! All that aside, check out a webcomics interview I did about this comic here

Also here's some fanart of Hebiko with a Sadako haircut

The creepy Sadako version of Hebiko will play a part in a future storyline
