Looks like there's no way out now.

Anyway going a bit off topic I watched a video recently that kind of analized some things about the deadpool franchise and similar things. The video argued that deadpool and similar franchises that lampoon other genres are incapable of being original. It then occurred to me that what I'm doing or at least trying to do in this comic at times is lampoon multiple genres while still being very original. Hopefully I pulled that off.

The thing about works lampooning others is that's the "gimmick"; there's no actual meat to the bones, so to speak. The readers find it funny, the lampoon, but that's all those works have. There's no "deep" story, or at least an interesting one. Deadpool's got an interesting backstory, but maybe that's meant to lampoon interesting backstories.
Oddly enough, I never did get a major "lampoon" vibe from PG. Sure, I saw that there were familiar elements found in B-movies, but the story was intriguing to the point where I can safely say it IS original. I mean, who would have thunk we were swallowed by a giant bovine... erh... Cosmic Devourer?!

Yeah I think a big difference is most of the things doing that are just focusing on the lampoon without really trying to being their own thing. I mean while I have alot of stuff in pg that parodies other material I never try to do so at the expense of trying to make new ideas. One mainstream exception to that rule I can think of though is space dandy as that show was pretty original even though alot of it was parodying other stuff.
